Ways to Reduce Spending and Increase your Cash Flow
Periodically taking some time to analyze your spending habits and monthly expenses can offer some beneficial insight into your
financial standing. Getting a closer look and figuring out what you really do and do not need is the first step towards saving
potentially lots of money each month.
Here are some common areas where many people could be wasting money:
Cable TV/Wireless Phone
Do you watch every channel that you pay for? Do you watch enough TV for the bill to be worthwhile? Do you spend a lot on pay-per-view
when you could wait a couple more months for it to be on a regular channel? How about your cell phone? Are you frequently going
over your allotted minutes or text messages? Upgrading your plan may cost you a few dollars more per month, but eliminating those
outrageous overage fees will make it worthwhile.
Junk Food
We all know it's bad for us, but it's a ripoff too! You're paying for convenience, and you're paying a lot. Bring your own lunch or
even your own junk food that you bought from the grocery store. This will add up to savings very fast.
Insurance
Do you pay too much? Do you know how to find out? Every once in awhile do some price checking. Insurance companies are always
adjusting prices and rates, and they always compete for your business. You could pay less simply by switching companies.
Utility Bills
Electricity is expensive, and gas is becomming just as expensive. Turn down your heat/air conditioning down when you go to work.
Ten degrees less for 9 or 10 hours will add up a lot at month's end. Stop leaving lights on in rooms you're not in. Also, how
is the insulation in your home? If your home leaks air from every seam, your checkbook is suffering from it.
